October, 2007         By BwB Mali employee: Aline Dakouo

Week 7

Hi from Boumou!

This week is totally reserved to the school painting. After the roof maker has left, the painter came for his job. It so wonderful; the different skilled labors are coming one after the other, everybody for his job.

Almost finished school
Workers finish plastering the walls before they can be painted.

The painter has first stared by the second plaster that colored the walls of the school. This plaster is made with sifted sand, cement and the color. The painter uses a flicker to do this part on the outside of the walls.

The second part took three days because the painter has to do it and then redo it. Then he started painted the inner rooms.

There he used white spirit and other things mixed together that is giving colorful aspects to the classrooms. The color of the bottom is different from that of the top. It is so nice. The painter took four days to paint the inside of the classrooms.

Next week the villagers will clean the classrooms, inside and outside and the school will be ready for use
